Inquiry Security

Inquiry Security in Oracle Insurance Rules Workbench is managed within the Security Groups structure under Application Security.

Accessing Inquiry Security

To access Inquiry Security configuration:

  1. Navigate to Security | Application Security | Security Groups | [Security Group Name].

  2. Expand the appropriate Security Group.

  3. Locate and expand the Inquiry Security node.

The Inquiry Security node contains three hierarchical sections for managing access to Inquiry pages:

  • Main Menu – Displays InquiryScreen rules configured at the Main Menu level for the Security Group’s applicable Primary Company.

  • Policy Level – Organized by Company > Product > Plan hierarchy.

  • Client Level – Displays all InquiryScreen rules configured at the Client level for the Security Group’s applicable Primary Company.

Managing Inquiry Security

Main Menu

  • Inquiry Security settings at the Main Menu level are available under the Main Menu node within each Security Group.

  • Navigate to Security | Application Security | Security Groups | [Security Group Name] | Inquiry Security | Main Menu.

Granting or Removing Access to All Inquiry Pages

  1. Select the Main Menu node in the left navigation panel under the Inquiry Security Folder.

  2. In the Configuration Area (right panel), select a Config Package from the toolbar.

  3. Click the three-dot (⋯) hamburger icon located in the top-right corner of the toolbar.

  4. Select one of the available options:

    • Grant Access to All Inquiry Pages – Grants access to all Inquiry pages under Main Menu.

    • Remove Access to All Inquiry Pages – Revokes access to all Inquiry pages under Main Menu.

Granting or Removing Access to Specific Inquiry Pages

To configure access for individual Inquiry pages at the Main Menu level:

  1. In the left navigation panel, expand the Main Menu node under the Inquiry Security Folder.

  2. Select the specific Inquiry page.

  3. In the Configuration Area (right panel).

    1. Choose a Config Package from the toolbar.

    2. Click Check-Out to enable editing.

    3. Enable or disable the checkbox next to the page name to grant or revoke access.

    4. Click Check-In to save the page access settings.

Policy Level

The Policy Level node provides a hierarchical view of InquiryScreen rules configured at the policy tier and is organized by Product and Plan. Security permissions can be assigned at the Product level, with options to cascade settings to associated Plans or Child Products. Expanding the Policy Level node displays each Company associated with the selected Security Group. Within each Company, the structure includes available Products, their Child Products, Plans, and relevant Inquiry Screens configured for each entity.

To Access Policy Level Security:

Navigate to Security | Application Security | Security Groups | [Security Group Name] | Inquiry Security | Policy Level

  • Inquiry Screens:

    Expanding this folder presents a list of Inquiry Screens, in alphabetical order, available for the Product. Inquiry Screens may be overridden at the Product or Subsidiary Company level.

  • Plans:

    This folder contains all Plans associated with the Product, listed alphabetically. If no Plans are defined, the folder remains present but non-expandable (displayed as a gray icon). Under each Plan, all Inquiry Screens and overrides at the Plan, Product, or Subsidiary Company level are displayed alphabetically.

Granting or Removing Access to All Inquiry Pages under Plan Node

  1. Select the Plan folder within the desired Security Group.

  2. In the right configuration panel, choose a Config Package from the toolbar.

  3. Click the three-dot (⋯) icon in the toolbar’s top-right corner.

  4. Select one of the following options.

    • Grant Access to All Inquiry Pages: Grants access to all Inquiry Screens listed under the Plan node.

    • Remove Access to All Inquiry Pages: Revokes access from all Inquiry Screens under the Plan node.

  5. Child Products:

    The Child Products folder displays all child products associated with the Product in alphabetical order. If no child products exist, the folder remains with a gray icon and cannot be expanded.

Structure under Each Child Product Node

  • Inquiry Screen:

    Expanding this folder lists all InquiryScreen pages available for the Child Product, presenting a cumulative alphabetical list, including overrides at the current Product, parent Products, or Subsidiary Companies.

  • Plans:

    Same structure and behavior as described under the Product node.

  • Child Product:

    Recursively follows the same structure as the parent Product node, supporting nested child products.

    For each child product, the following options are available:

    • Grant Access to All Inquiry Pages: Grants access to all Inquiry pages under the selected node.

    • Remove Access to All Inquiry Pages: Revokes access from all Inquiry pages under the selected node.

    • Copy Parent Access: Copies security settings for matching Inquiry Screens from the Product level to the Child Product node. This option is only available if Inquiry Screen pages exist. A confirmation prompt appears before applying the changes.

      Note: Manual configuration is required for security on Inquiry Screens unique to the Child Product node after applying Copy Parent Access.

    Modifying Access to Specific Inquiry Pages

    To grant or revoke access for a specific page:

    1. Navigate to and select the desired page under Inquiry Screens, Plans, or Child Product (under Inquiry Screens or Plans).

    2. In the right configuration panel:

      1. Select a Config Package from the toolbar.

      2. Click Check-Out.

      3. Enable or disable the checkbox next to the page name to grant or revoke access.

      4. Click Check-In to save the page access settings.

    Client Level

    The Client Level node lists all Inquiry Screen rules that have been configured at the Client level for the Security Group's applicable Primary Company. The configuror selects the individual 'Inquiry' security page, checks it out and grant or removes access to the page.

    Granting or Removing Access to All Inquiry Pages

    To grant or remove access to all Inquiry pages under the Client Level:

    1. Navigate to Security | Application Security | Security Groups | [Security Group Name] | Inquiry Security | Client Level.

    2. In the left navigation panel, select the Client Level node.

    3. In the right configuration panel, select a Config Package from the toolbar.

    4. Click the three-dot (⋯) hamburger icon in the top-right corner of the toolbar.

    5. From the menu, choose one of the following options:

      • Grant Access to All Inquiry Pages – Grants access to all Inquiry pages listed under the Client Level node.

      • Remove Access to All Inquiry Pages – Revokes access to all Inquiry pages listed under the Client Level node.

    1. In the left navigation panel, expand the Client Level node under the Inquiry Security Folder.

    2. Select the specific Inquiry page.
